Welcome. It's nice to have you.

Hi. My name is Amy. I am a neuro-spicy, 40-something, wife of 16 years to my handsome husband, and mama of two. I am starting this blog, because, well...I need an outlet, and this seems to be the way to go. I am very passionate about mental health, marriage and families, and gardening. I am now starting to delve into bread baking, and design because I find it cathartic after the year I have had.

So, a little bit of background on me. I was born and raised in Kentucky, in Louisville to be exact. I tried to make it through high school, but that didn't work. I got what I call my "Good Enough Diploma" (GED). I met my now-husband in 2003, we had our son in 2005, and married in 2007. Our second child was born in 2011. So, here we are, 21 years ago, married with two (one grown) kids. I sometimes can't believe I am old enough to have a grown son, be married for like 17 years now. Imposter syndrome? Maybe. My Gram was a gardener, and in the 33 years that I was fortunate to have her before she went home to be with Jesus, she was not able to get me on board. I was known to kill plants.

2020 happened to us all, and in 2020-21, I decided to take up gardening as a way to grow our own food (proud tin foil hat wearer over here ;) ) and I fell in LOVE with it. Usually, with my ADHD, I hyperfocus for all of maybe a month maximum. Ask my husband, who has made many a purchase, and watched as the purchases come in for my different interests (Cricut maker, that is now sitting at my sister's because I got bored with it). So, when I started gardening, it was mainly flowers, if I am honest. Then I used grow bags trying to get broccoli (my arch nemesis, ha!). My neighbor across the street, has a large field, and the second year I decided to garden again, he and his dad offered to till up the land next to his garden. I am four years in, and learn something new every year, but I am in love with gardening.

So, what can you expect if you follow me on here? Weird stories. My life. Neuro-spiciness. A place to land. Gardening stories and information. Maybe some of my life stories. I used to be a writer, and while I notice I ramble more, at lease, maybe by writing instead of speaking, I can real it in and find some internet people to connect to.
